When & where: 10 – 12 Nov 2006, V&A Waterfront

The International Dragon Boat Festival takes place from 10-12 November 2006 at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Included in the weekend is exciting entertainment by the popular Lion dancers and dragon dancers.

This ancient, dramatic, colourful, oriental water-sport originated in China over 2300 years ago, and came to South Africa in 1992 when two beautiful ceremonial wooden dragon boats were presented to Cape Town by our Taiwanese sister city. Continue reading →
