Pinelands Carnival back after 10 years!

Cape Town Carnival 2007The Pinelands Carnival returns after an absence of almost 10 years. Some of the attractions at this years event include a carnival area with exciting rides from All Africa Amusements. A variety of interesting and different foods will be available to suite any hungry visitor to the Fair and a fully stocked, undercover beer garden will e on offer as well as a tea garden for those interested.

The Fair will be showcasing some of the Cape’s finest entertainment talents such as D�j� Vu, current leading South African boy band, The Great Pretenders, the Yugoslavian Bellydancing Company and the sunshine entertainers, amongst others. In addition, one of the biggest highlights of the event will be the Mr and Miss Pinelands competition as well as the Glamorous Granny and the Parent and Child competitions with lots of exciting prizes to be won.

Classic and Cruising Boat Rally 2007

Royal Cape Yacht Club 2007 RallyClassic and Cruising Boat Regatta weekend will be from the 4th to 6th May. The Event is aimed around family entertainment for the whole Weekend.

At least 20 yachts are expected to come over from HBYC, and what could be an attraction for them would be to sail in the HBYC to RCYC Pursuit Race on Tuesday 1st May after the Admiral’s Regatta. Free moorings will be available for all visitors the week before and after the Weekend.

SA Bellydancing Festival

The Cape Academy of Middle Eastern Dance, previously Marocca Belly Dance Studios, has presented the annual SA National Belly Dance Festival since 2004. It has become the highlight of the year for the Belly Dance community in South Africa.

The festival offers

The opportunity for teachers to meet from around the country and share their knowledge and expertise with each other and students.

The opportunity to dance in a professional environment is offered to both new and established dancers.

The extensive variety of workshops presented at the festival give students the opportunity to learn the many styles and forms of Belly Dance.

Design for living 4

Design for Living (D4L) is Cape Town’s longest � running Expo. This well-loved event remains one of the most effective brand interaction tools available to the marketing and business fraternity, and has been an integral part of Cape Town’s events landscape for more than 25 years.

The sheer number of feet through the door � research in 2006 showed the visitor numbers at Design for Living peaked in excess of 8 000 on weekends and public holidays. Of the 11 days of the show in 2007, six of these are public holidays and weekends.

CAPE 07 – A Showcase of African Art

Starting 24 March and running until 02 May 2007, CAPE 07 features over 40 Lions of contemporary African art, showing work in a range of media including video, new media, photography, painting, sculpture and installation.

The 5-week event spans the entire Cape Town Unicity, with exhibitions, performances and discussion sessions taking place in diverse venues including the Iziko South African National Gallery (SANG), The Castle of Good Hope, Look Out Hill in Khayelitsha, the Spier Wine Estate and unexpected public spaces.

The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon presented by Nike, is the world’s most beautiful marathon and one of the largest timed races in South Africa, attracting more than 20 000 participants each year to South Africa’s most beautiful city, Cape Town. 2006 sees the move of Registration and the Expo to the NEW venue at the Good Hope Centre in Cape Town at the corner of Sir Lowry Road and Oswald Pirow Street.
