The Cape Academy of Middle Eastern Dance, previously Marocca Belly Dance Studios, has presented the annual SA National Belly Dance Festival since 2004. It has become the highlight of the year for the Belly Dance community in South Africa.
The festival offers
The opportunity for teachers to meet from around the country and share their knowledge and expertise with each other and students.
The opportunity to dance in a professional environment is offered to both new and established dancers.
The extensive variety of workshops presented at the festival give students the opportunity to learn the many styles and forms of Belly Dance.
The festival aims to promote a better image of Belly Dancing by exposing the general public to the many unique and artistic styles of the art form.

Hi,
Is there any date yet for 2008 festival?
My daughter and granddaughter are avid bellydancers in Gauteng, and would like to attend.
I would like to make the organisers aware of the fact that we have a team of very young South African bellydancers who this year got South African colours as the best overall performing group: section Folk Dancing, at the yearly championships of Performing Arts earlier this year in Rustenberg. They missed the world championships, as there was not enough time to get sponsorships to get them to San Fransisco. (I am the proud gran of one of these youngsters)
