Thursday, 9 May 2013, saw the launch of a refreshing new grand menu for Cape Royale’s Bistro 1800. Cape Royale Luxury Hotel and Spa treated guests to a special three course journey from the VIP Sky Bar to Bistro 1800 restaurant, catering a selection of delicious dishes from their new menu for an exclusive first-hand experience. These bite size dishes were perfectly paired with a variety of Nitida wines.

Cape Royale Luxury Hotel and Spa – situated in the heart of Cape Town.

Chef, Jonathan Gargan, and Food and Beverage manager, George Sakulias, combined local, fresh ingredients, innovation and professional artistry to present a menu which offers uncomplicated and flavourful dishes. “There are many factors that come into play when compiling a menu”, says Sakulias, “firstly you have to decide on the concept that you would like to achieve and the identity of what you would like to establish. The concept created for Bistro 1800 is hearty, comfort food where the guest may treat themselves to an experience that is authentic, but homely”.

Bistro 1800 believes that providing seasonal foods to a health-conscious clientele is very important. It is also important to maintain the integrity of the food source when cooking with specific ingredients. Simplicity is the secret when it comes to describing the overall style of the revamped menu.

The name Bistro 1800 is derived from the restaurant’s signature New York-style grill, which cooks the perfect steak at exactly 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. The grill seals the juices and allows the flavours to open up. Other than the wide variety of specially selected succulent steaks, new dishes also include Grilled lion of Lamb (R135); phyllo baked Atlantic Salmon (R139); Kingklip en papilote (125) and Slow roast breast of duck (R125) – good quality food prepared with an honest Bistro style. Guests may also treat themselves to Tribe coffee that has a creative fusion of up to nine different coffees from around the world – a brand new addition to Bistro 1800.

Bistro 1800 is the type of restaurant to visit repeatedly as it offers good value for money with an excellent dining experience, a homely feel and a variety of seasonal specials.

The creator of LOVE & LIGHT and PACHA Ibiza Cape Town presents SIRIUS- an intergalactic journey from day into night event, featuring top international progressive trance artists PHAXE and LISH! Sirius, held on 15 June 2013 at Bloemendal, Durbanville brings you a new and exciting indoor-outdoor venue with a 270 degree view over the beautiful mother city.

Sirius is the brightest star in the universe and its name was derived from ancient Greek meaning “glowing”. It was believed that the appearance of Sirius signalled the hot and dry summer which caused plants to wilt, men to weaken, and women to become aroused. Just as the appearance of Sirius in the morning sky marked summer in Greece, so it marked the chilly onset of winter for the M?ori where it was known as Ka’ulua, “Queen of Heaven”. In Theosophy, it is believed the Seven Stars of the Pleiades transmit the spiritual energy of the Seven Rays from the Galactic Logos to Sirius. From there is it sent via the Sun to the god of Earth and finally through the seven Masters of the Seven Rays to the human race.

And so we come together to celebrate the change of season and unite our spiritual energy to the greater good of human kind, to free energy, abundance, social justice, and inter-planetary support. An incredible line-up of astronomical trance at a beautiful venue – be sure not to miss Sirius this winter.
